In a year marked by grief, resistance, and collective reckoning, our community is yearning for spaces of hope and visibility. In that spirit, South Asian SOAR invites you to join us for And Still, We Speak during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The evening will uplift the voices and strength of survivors through music, dance, and readings.

All proceeds from the event will support SOAR’s work to build a future free from gender-based violence, and all funds raised will be matched up to $60K by the Bhatia Family Foundation.

About South Asian SOAR

South Asian SOAR (Survivors, Organizations, and Allies—Rising) was founded on the belief that addressing gender-based violence in South Asian communities requires not just direct support for survivors, but also deep cultural and systemic change. Since 2021, we’ve been building a national movement that unites 500+ grassroots leaders, survivors, and allies, including 45+ organizations, to shift culture, policy, and power.

SOAR focuses on three key areas:

  • Field Building: Supporting 50 grassroots organizations across 26 states through referral networks, personalized mentorship, training, resources, and soon, funding.

  • Power Building: Equipping 200+ survivors and allies annually with leadership development, storytelling, and advocacy skills to turn pain into power.

  • Culture Shifting: Driving national conversations and policy change through survivor storytelling, advocacy campaigns, and research.

In just three years, we've mobilized a network of 500+ change-makers, hosted over 100 convenings and trainings, and published 10+ national reports and anthologies that have influenced policy and culture.
