amrita@southasiansoar.org

Amrita Doshi is a co-founder and the Executive Director of South Asian SOAR. Amrita's entry point into this work, like many, begins with survivorship.

She found this first as an intern at Sakhi for South Asian Women, where she worked on developing youth empowerment programming for the children of survivors, while their mothers received services. After this, Amrita spent several years working in public health, healthcare technology, and community-centered design in the US and India across start-ups, hospitals, and design firms.

In addition to this, Amrita is a cultural organizer, storytelling, and leader as the founder of the NYC Adavu Meetup, a classical arts group for South Asians, and a producer of arts shows across New York City. She is deeply committed to advancing healing and justice for South Asian survivors and communities.

Amrita holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Human Rights from Barnard College, Columbia University and an Executive Certificate in Social Innovation Design from the University of Pennsylvania.

She is eager to connect with anyone who cares about this work—please reach out & say hello!
