Ranjani Shah, RN, WHNP
Advisory Board Member, she/her/hers
Ranjani Shah is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and PhD student at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing with 14 years of clinical experience in chronic illness care, reproductive health, and trauma-informed practice.
She earned both her BSN and MSN from the University of Pennsylvania and spent her clinical career at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, first as a registered nurse for six years caring for people living with chronic illness, and then as a nurse practitioner for eight years in reproductive and sexual health settings. Her prior work as a sexual assault forensic examiner and forensic asylum evaluator strengthened her commitment to survivor-centered, culturally responsive care for individuals navigating trauma, violence, and displacement. Ranjani’s current community-engaged PhD research focuses on refugee and forcibly displaced women living with chronic health conditions, examining how trauma, post-migration stress, and structural barriers shape women’s ability to manage their health and navigate healthcare. Across her clinical, research, and advocacy work, she is committed to centering women’s lived experiences and improving care for women affected by trauma, displacement, and inequity. She lives in Hoboken, New Jersey, with her husband and three daughters.
