Nitasha Nagaraj, PhD
Dr. Nitasha Nagaraj is an Associate Professor in the Department of Prevention and Community Health at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health, where her work focuses on maternal and women's health, health equity, community-engaged research, and program evaluation. She has led and evaluated public health initiatives across the United States and globally, partnering with communities to develop evidence-based strategies that improve health outcomes and advance equity.
Her research centers on the health and well-being of South Asian communities, with a particular focus on women's health, mental health, chronic disease, and culturally responsive care. Through her work, she brings together research, storytelling, and community partnerships to translate evidence into meaningful action. As a member of the SOAR Impact Council, Dr. Nagaraj is committed to helping strengthen the movement to end gender-based violence by fostering collaboration, amplifying community voices, and supporting strategies that promote prevention, leadership, and systems change.
