Sagar is a 1.5 generation Nepalese-American, passionate about exploring healing justice through lenses of gender, sexuality, culture, class and their interplay, as well as the role of joy in the movement.

Sagar has over 5 years of experience organizing including community events, workshops, advocacy summits, as well as crisis support and intervention. Sagar hopes through SOAR to build sustainable practices within South Asian healing spaces, and continue to dismantle ideas of toxic masculinity and cultivating joy and gender + body euphoria.

He comes to SOAR with experience volunteering for Alameda Crisis Services as a Phone Line Counselor, and after working at the East Coast Asian American Student Union (ECAASU) as their Special Events Coordinator. At ECAASU they hosted ECAASU’s first Summit on Advocacy, aimed at connecting Asian student organizers with each other and local/national non-profits. Sagar was raised in New Jersey, received his Bachelors in Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. They are currently pursuing their Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Temple University, to bring more Queer and POC voices to therapy and expand mental healthcare care in under-served communities.

Sagar holds a deep love for stories in all shapes, particularly those in fantasy & sci-fi books, video-games, animation, and comics.
